Lee Krystinik Assumes Presidency Of The American Affiliation Of Petroleum Geologists

Three additional AAPG members voted in to serve on affiliation’s executive committee.

TULSA, Okla.,July 10, 2013 /CNW/ – The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) announced today that longtime Association memberLee Krystinik has assumed the role of president effective July 1. In his new role, Krystinik will serve a one-year time period and lead AAPG’s government committee, which acts as the Affiliation’s board of administrators. The executive committee maintains normal govt management and management of the affairs and funds of AAPG, with sole duty and authority for all inner and exterior issues.

Krystinik is the principal and founder of Fossil Creek Assets inArlington, Texas. He earned his Ph.D. in geology in 1981 from Princeton University and began his profession that very same 12 months as a research geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey. Over the years Krystinik served in varied geological positions for Reservoirs Inc., Union Pacific Sources, Krystinik Litho-logic, and eventually ConocoPhillips before founding Fossil Creek Resources in 2006. Krystinik joined the AAPG in 1978, where he served in quite a few positions, including a distinguished lecturer both domestically and abroad.

Randi Martinsen, a senior lecturer-petroleum geology on the College of Wyoming,Laramie, was voted president-elect. Martinsen will function president of the association in 2014-2015.

New government committee members includeJohn Kaldi, elected areas vice president and a professor on the Australian College of Petroleum, College ofAdelaide,Australia;Richard W. Ball, elected secretary, and improvement geologist-Angola for Chevron; andMichael Candy, elected editor, with ExxonMobil Upstream Analysis Firm,Houston. They joinThomas E. Ewing, govt committee vice president-sections;Deborah K. Sacrey, treasurer; andLarry Wickstrom, chair of AAPG’s House of Delegates.
