The Department affords on-campus and distance-learning packages in Petroleum Engineering at each Undergraduate and Graduate ranges.

UND presents the only Petroleum Engineering program in the state of N.D. With the discovery and development of the unconventional sources, this program is strategically essential to UND in terms of educating sensible and fingers-on engineers who can work in the sphere, and also develop the latest technologies for discovery, exploration, drilling and manufacturing of the oil and gasoline fields to supply future power. Our Graduate program is focused to perform each fundamental and practical analysis on matters in demand of the trade.

The number of scholars since 2010 when the division admitted the first group of students in Petroleum Engineering has elevated exponentially. One reason for this increase is the State large sources of shale oil, and the unconventional territory the trade may find itself in for the retraction of that useful resource at times. This has made it an exciting time to coach students on the subject.

The program has found widespread help from the university, and from trade. Additionally, the Pupil Chapter of the society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is actively involved in inviting trade professionals to present quick courses and workshops and to discuss future profession on this occupation. As well as, students spend a few months within the business during their summer time internship program which is a wonderful alternative for them to get uncovered to real life office.
